I abandoned this blog back in 2006 to focus on my family and publishing my own comics. It was originally a blog to help promote worthy reads from small press comics. Since then, a lot has changed. There are sites like eye on comics, midnight fictionhyper geekindy planet, and comixpress that review and help catalogue and promote these types of comics.
My new goal for this blog will to review all types of media from comics to movies to music and more. Basically whatever i deem cool and worth a closer look at that moment in time. Flavor of the moment will still have it's roots in comic based material but with a much broader scope. I will also be directly linking you to buy these items from Amazon or maybe directly from the publisher. You don't have to purchase anything but it will be at your finger tips if you so desire. So let me re-launch this blog with a rant about my all time favorite show to date... SPARTACUS!!

Spartacus: Blood and Sand - The Complete First Season (2010)

I just finished watching Spartacus: Vengeance and as much as I enjoy the show, nothing can compare to season 1 starring the late Andy Whitfield who built the foundation of the leading character with raw passion and powerful performances throughout season 1. Andy was diagnosed with cancer and grew ill. He passed away on September 11, 2011. A powerful actor taken too soon, he left behind some of the best performances within the 13 episodes of season 1. If you haven't seen these then you are missing out on a great show. The theme is very mature, filled with sex and violence but has so much more to offer.

Spartacus: Gods Of The Arena - The Complete Collection (2011)

This was called season 1.5 and takes us back before the events of season 1. We see how all of the supporting characters found there way to The House of Batiatus. We are introduced to Gannicus who takes the lead role as champion temporarily. although I thought that I wouldn't like it, I wound up getting closer to the other characters and actually very satisfied with these 6 episodes. You must follow them as they will have a lot to do with the next season.

Spartacus: Vengeance - The Complete Second Season

I just recently finished watching this on cable. It will be available on DVD on September 11, 2012 which is still a while to wait but if you haven't followed the series at all then this will give you the chance to catch up on the previous ones. Liam McIntyre debuts the role of Spartacus. He has big shoes to fill but very suprising does an impressive job. He still isn't Andy and will never fill those shoes but he pulls it off as a believable Spartacus. All of the other supporting characters continue to grow and impress this season as well. Every episode escalates to a more intense level and will keep you on edge until the last second.

I'm looking forward to what will come next with this show and curious to see just how long they can keep hitting home runs. That's all for now.
